VUELTA AL TACHIRA: STEFANO GANDIN WAS 8TH IN THE FINAL STAGE

Team corratec ends the Vuelta al Tachira with a top 10 thanks to Stefano Gandin who was 8th in the final stage that finished inside the Velodrome of San Cristobal.

The first stage race in the history of Team corratec ended with a very demanding circuit with a short climb repeated 12 times and it was on that climb that today’s winner Didier Merchan launched the decisive attack with the venezuelan Roniel Campos who celebrated his third win in a row in the general classification.

The team performance was excellent today as our riders first tried to attack in the first part of the stage and later, in addition to the already mentioned Gandin, also the colombian Oscar Tellez managed to stay in the very selected lead group ending in the top 20.

“We came in Venezuela aiming for a stage win – says our Sports Director Francesco Frassi – and we did it thanks to our captain Dusan Rajovic. I am happy with the team performances, we built a solid base and I am looking forward to our very demanding calendar with many races in Turkey in february, including the Tour of Antalya – and some important races in Italy in march as Trofeo Laigueglia, Memorial Alfredo Martini, Settimana Internazionale Coppi & Bartali and GP Larciano.”
